Italian Interior Minister: We Spent 200 Million Euros o Confront Illegal Migration From Southern Libya.

Pulbished on:
Rome, 5 June 2017(Lana) Italian Interior Minister Marco Minniti said Sunday his government has spent 200 million Euros to confront illegal migration from southern Libya. Minniti did not specify the period during which the money was spent, but Rome announced in February that it had allocated 200 million Euros for 'Africa Fund', which was designed to stop the migration boats by monitoring outside borders , as well as numerous forms of cooperation with concerned countries. In statement carried by the state-run television , Minniti stressed that Libya's southern borders were the southern borders of Europe, and in that very region the fight against trafficking should be conducted. 'If we want to put an end to migration coming from the south, we must ensure that the Government of National Accord in Libya was able to control its territorial waters, and for this reason we train Libyan coastal guards in the north 'Tripoli coast', and we work on rehabilitation of their patrol boats, he said. We are in talks with all other Libyan parties, because the notion of establishing stability militarily is but a tragic illusion , and the only way is to liaise with other local parties. =Lana=
