Highway Linking Al Zawiyah to Sayyad Re-opened, Arragements Underway to Re-open Stretch to Janzour.

Tripoli, 22 March 2017(Lana) The highway linking Al Zawiyah to the town of Sayyad west of Tripoli was re-opened, a Spokesman for the Al Zawiyah Security Directrote Nabil Abu Rawi announced, adding that arrangements were underway to reopen the remaining stretch to Janzour. The highway has been closed for months, as a result of clahes between Al Zawiyah and Wersheffana. The re-opening was agreed by a committee selected from the two regions, which also agreed to secure traffic on both ways, Abu Rawi told the Libyan News Agency. The Al Zawiyah Security Directorate and the Western Miliatry Zone have undertaken to secure the highway starting from entrance gate of Al Zawiyah along the administrative rule of the region, while Brigade (404) affiliated with the Defense Ministry was slated to secure the coastal highway and Janzour Security Directorate the stretch that lies within its administrative authority, AbU rAWI ADDED. Lana correspondent said sand barrier have been removed of the road in Al Zawiyah and Wersheffana regions and work was underway to remove a barrier in Janzour. =Lana
